The Birthday Shirt

Every year I make Ely a shirt for his birthday. I didn't necessarily intend for it to be a yearly tradition, but it seems like if I do something one time the kids remember it and ask again every year. This year was no different. The problem this year was that all of the knit fabric I have is either to juvenile for a seven year old or has already been used for Ely before.

So, I went to the thrift store and found a men's t-shirt and a woman's striped knit shirt, for a total of $4.

Those combined with some black rib knit that I already had, turned into a birthday shirt for Ely.

And an elephant tag is fitting, since we did name him after an elephant.
