Disney

In November we went on a trip to Disney. Tim was presenting at a conference at the Contemporary so we decided to go with him for a few days. I wasn't using my regular camera so I didn't get very good pictures. The weather was perfect, the lines were short and we were able to fit a lot of activities into a short amount of time without spending much money.


We arrived on a Sunday night, after an easy drive. As soon as we got there the magic started. In the few minutes we were waiting in the parking lot for Tim to find our room, we saw the monorail above, boats and light up floats in the lake and the fireworks from Magic Kingdom.

Monday morning Tim had to work so the kids and I just walked around the resort and checked things out and then came back to the room for lunch. We were able to get special tickets through the conference that let you go to any park from either 2 or 4 in the afternoon until close. Since Monday was an extra magic hours day at Magic Kingdom we decided to go there. Thanks to rider swap, fast passes and short lines we were able to go on a lot of attractions in nine hours. We were able to do everything we wanted and by the end of the night the park was pretty empty, so Tim and Eryn and Ely were able to go on the roller coasters again several times.



This is Finn on It's a Small World. He loved it and was wide eyed and waving the whole time.


We closed the park down and then headed back to the hotel.

The next day Tim was working all day so we were on our own. We spent the morning at the pool, which included an interactive water feature and a water slide.


After lunch, we took advantage of the water taxis that go between resorts and went for a ride just for fun.


Then we headed to downtown Disney via the bus.


At downtown Disney, we checked out the theme restaurants, ate at BabyCakes (a vegan, gluten free bakery) and spent a long time at the Lego store.


Tim drove to meet us around 6:30 and we were about to leave to go to dinner, when a dance party started on the stage. Eryn had a great time following the dance moves and got to show off some of her Hip Hop moves. Finally, we headed out to an Asian vegetarian restaurant in Orlando and then back to the hotel.

On Wednesday, Tim was working again so we spent some more time at the pool. Then we headed to Epcot in the late afternoon.


We could have used more time at Epcot but we did get to go on all of the attractions we wanted and walked quickly through World Showcase. We also saw the Epcot light show on the lake, Illuminations.
