Brown Belt

Ely tested for his brown belt in February.  He worked a long time, almost two years, for this belt.

I've discovered that I'm horrible at taking pictures of the kids grappling but this is a nice one of Ely's hair in action.

To break the board, he was allowed to choose his kick.  Ely chose to do a jump, spinning, round kick.  Not the easiest choice to break a board with and certainly not a requirement.

 

During testing, Eryn received a stripe on her yellow belt.  Her sensei gave her the stripe because she was the school's lowest ranking student to ever choose to compete in open competition (NAGA).  Then he called her a warrior!
